Privacy policy

Who we are

This policy explains how Blue Biometrics Pty Ltd (ABN 66 621 736 249), Queensland, Australia ("Blue Biometrics", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website, www.bluebiometrics.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

This policy covers this website only. It does not cover fingerprint or other biometric data processed by LEA Blue or Sally Blue AI for our customers; that is governed by each customer's agreement with us.

What we collect

When you request a briefing, we collect what you enter in the form: your name, agency or organisation, role, email address, phone number, what the briefing is for, and your message. Only your name, agency, email and the briefing type are required. If you email or call us, we collect the details you give us.

We don't ask for sensitive information through this website. Please don't include any in your message.

Why we collect it

We use your details only to reply to your request: to contact you, arrange a briefing or demonstration, and keep a record of our correspondence with you. We don't use them for marketing, and we never sell or rent them.

Where it is stored and who sees it

When you send the form, your request goes to our website platform, Wix.com, which keeps a copy and emails it to info@bluebiometrics.com, our mailbox hosted by Google Workspace. Wix and Google may store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe, under their own privacy and security commitments.

Only Blue Biometrics staff who handle briefing requests, in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, can see your request. We don't share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep briefing requests for up to 2 years after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless we need them for longer because of a legal obligation or an ongoing business relationship with you.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and doesn't track you across other websites. Our hosting provider may use technical measures, such as a security check, that are needed to deliver the site safely and protect it from automated attacks.

Keeping it secure

Your request is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to it is limited to the staff who need it to reply to you.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@bluebiometrics.com. We'll reply within 30 days. If you'd rather not use the form, you can call us on one of the numbers listed on the home page.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you also have rights under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, including the right to object to or restrict how we use your details and to receive a copy of them. We rely on our legitimate interest in replying to your request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (UK) or your local data protection authority.

Complaints

Please email info@bluebiometrics.com first and we'll try to resolve your concern. If you're not satisfied with our response within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
